About the Ad

featured in At Home Magazine

The good news is I have been blessed to have been a patient of three of the best dentists in Arkansas. This is a big deal because we all have heard many frightening tales of painful/poor dental experiences.
The bad news is that I have been cursed with dental issues that l have landed me in more than one dentist's chair, (and I'm not even counting orthodontic work).  I'm listing these dentists below because they deserve a shout-out after working with me!
1.      Clarksville, AR: Dr. Marc Muncy
He was my dentist throughout school, and caring for this candy eating, coke drinking mouth probably wasn't too much fun. My family and I had many appointments and never a bad experience.
2.      Fort Smith, AR: Dr. Mitchell Harper
Many people share scary dental stories involve lengthy and painful root canals. Obviously, those are not Dr Harper's patients.  I was mortified when referred for a root canal and spent days in needless worry. It seems as though I sat in the chair and the next thing I know, I'm finished! Mission accomplished Honestly, I thought he hadn’t even started yet! I was more excited than relieved!  No pain afterwards and no problem since!
3.      Russellville, AR: Dr. Michael Cooper
Dr. Cooper is the dentist who "fixed my tooth".
 The Story
In the before and after photo, the difference is obvious to me. Despite my wearing braces for years and being loyal to my retainers, my lateral incisor shifted and grew upwards. I was told that repeating braces was an option, but not a permanent fix.

Guess who noticed (verbalized) this tooth most?  Children.  I babysat a set of twins and one of them looked up at me and said “did you lose a tooth?”.  I eventually perfected a smile to semi- conceal "Shortie". I would talk with the edge of my mouth in an effort conceal this lateral incisor. When the girls got together for a photo I made sure I was in the right angle.

It seemed like smiling was always emphasized! If I didn't already know it, I learned in college how important it is to wear a confident and friendly smile. I knew my smile was not “real”. It was fake because I was always consciously trying to hide my tooth, therefore I would be thinking about my smile before I even smiled!  I even made a mental decision that when I married… I would stand on the RIGHT side rather than the tradition way of standing on the left so that no one would see my tooth!

When I started college, I became friends with Christopher Cooper, who happens to be Dr. Michael Cooper’s son. I told him how conscientious I was of my ascending incisor. Like everyone else, he said it wasn't even that noticeable! (I posted a photo with Elle so you can see how un-noticeable it was from certain angles). However, he told me fixing this problem is a common procedure. There would be no grinding down of this tooth, no pain and I would have a new tooth added to the hole in my smile.  Shortly after discovering this, I was fitted for a Durathin Veneer at Dr. Michael Cooper's office. The entire process was a cake, I mean simple. Doc Coop's office treated me like a queen and made me feel so at ease throughout my three visits.

I'm a fan because it's a one time permanent fix!  And, my smile is not longer fake!

  4. O god, I couldn't stop looking at your teeth!! It's like they're not even real, they look that good! I've had braces and retainers FOR YEARS and after 3 years of not wearing them anymore, my teeth started moving again so I'm back to wearing one AGAIN. But your teeth definitely give me the motivation.:)

  5. Beautiful smile! I have durathin veneers because I actually chipped my front two teeth when I was younger. They are wonderful!

  6. Omg! That was me. When I was in 3rd grade I fell down the stairs and chipped my front tooth.

Because I was young it was not a permanent fix and I couldn't get it permanently fixed until I was 18.

Because of that I was always self conscious of smiling. As soon as it was permanently fixed you couldn't stop me from smiling :).

    You have a beautiful smile!

  8. That's awesome. I think your smile was beautiful before the tooth but we all know how self conscious something like that can make us feel. If it made you feel more confident to get that fixed I'm so glad that you were able to do it. My sister has some issues with her teeth that she can't afford to do anything about it. If I ever won money I'd pay for it. It may not be necessary but having a smile you feel good about is so important.
