Save or Splurge... Fall Staples

5. DISTRESSED SKINNY JEANS | 6. AG DISTRESSED SKINNY JEANS (thinking about one of these...)
11. BLACK FAUX LEATHER TOTE | 12. TORY BURCH FLANNEL TOTE (perfect tote for work wear in the fall / winter!)

One thing that I strongly believe in is picking and choosing different pieces to invest your money into...  Before any season, when I am shopping I usually pick a couple of things to invest in - whether it is a nice pair of heels or a handbag! I will say that I love buying my denim from the 'Trend' section of Nordstrom - they are inexpensive and wear really well (and for some reason are flattering than a lot of my designer denim.) Now don't get me wrong, I have a couple pair of AG jeans that I wear and re-wear (too) much. I love when I can find a great alternative to something that is expensive and is something I know I won't wear too much (i.e. that Kate Spade bow dress!).

Hope this helps with your back to school shopping! Sidetone, as I was writing this John goes "make sure you mention it that you never know who you are going to meet in class!" - referring to our meeting in Bible class in college and how I would always make sure to curl my hair if I knew I was going to see him, lol! Oh boy!

  8. Your bag "saves" are perfect!! I couldn't agree more. Buying clothing and accessories is all about knowing when to save vs. splurge.

  30. I think deciding whether to splurge on an item or to find a better price is a crisis all bloggers face! At least it is for me. I love using Polyvore.com to explore other options for an expensive piece I want...how do you search for the best deal Emily??
