On Monday a.m., the weather in Denver cooled off a little – but not much. We decided to pack up and drive to Aspen  which is such a beautiful drive! We actually did this same trip last October – starting in Denver and then visiting Aspen. John and I are both mountain people – we love cool weather and mountains so much, I think Fitz does, too! We stopped in Georgetown at this gorgeous lake to take in all the scenery. There was a high wind advisory there so we all looked a little crazy!

I thought I’d share some of the staple pieces I always travel with that are essential not only for travels, but for the fall & winter seasons. I’m very particular about my staples/basics, i.e. white v-neck tees, white long sleeve tees, leggings, etc. I like for my tops to be longer so that they can be worn with leggings and simply worn easily under other layers. That being said, I have THIS top in white & black from Nordstrom’ BP section ($19). Not going to lie, I have two of each color simply because I wear them so frequently. These tees are long sleeved, long in length, and wash up & wear well. Next are the my favorite leggings from Nordstrom, THESE. I discovered these a few years ago and I don’t wear anything but this brand. I love this exact style simply because they are high waisted and make you feel sucked in :). When we got to Denver one of my first stops was at Nordstrom to grab another pair!

I know having a vest is not a staple for everyone, but I really love having this classic black NorthFace vest. I think they are classy and simple, just easy to wear and look put together.

Thanks to Nordstrom for sponsoring today’s post.

  1. I love your outfit! It's such a perfect look that is comfortable for sitting in the car for hours & stylish for when you reach your destination. The pale pink tones look great with your colouring & that vest looks so cozy! Thank you for sharing!
