Valentine’s Spa Night At Home + On A Budget

VALENTINES DAY SPA NIGHT AT HOME

This post is for my fellow homebodies OR for any of you working momma’s [or SAHMoms], expecting momma’s, introverts, gals on a budget, etc.. Basically, if you are anything like me, you just want to be home & enjoying peace and quiet for Valentine’s! I actually joke with John about how the ‘perfect’ gift for me would be a hotel room by myself (for a night!) where I have no laptop/phone. I won’t deny, back in ‘the day’, John always took me to Olive Garden for Valentine’s Day which actually doesn’t sound too bad. 😉 However, lately, I really don’t have much desire to dress up and go out for dinner. I guess my priorities have just changed so drastically that I crave a night to myself nowadays. Not complaining at all, but as women we tend to try to do ‘it all’ and it can be draining. Between work, being a mother, & keeping our house in order, I really don’t slow down! I used to think that was something to be proud of, but as I’ve aged I realized how important it is to relax/de-stress (not sure if that’s a word!!).

I say all of that because I know most of you are in similar positions. The past month or so, I have been doing BBG workouts after my workday is done and so often I want to skip because I am drained. I actually more or less bribe myself to do the BBG workout some days–but I use my bath time ritual as the bribe, lol! I’m reading this and laughing because it sounds silly but a good, hot bubble bath is everything to me! But, my point is that if you are wanting to chill and stay inside this Valentine’s – have a little spa night for yourself- and do it affordably! Relax, take a bath, put on a face mask + a hair mask [love this], and get an hour of quiet time if you can. I went to Wal-Mart the other night while John was watching the Super Bowl and I picked up some things we were running low on… + a few other items like a new Collagen Lip Mask,  THESE cute leopard print Q-tips, & THIS Neutragena Brightening Mask.

We do a majority of our grocery shopping at Wal-Mart (and I’m from Arkansas so that’s just the norm for me!) and I got hooked on THIS Bubble Bath w/Epsom Salt a few years ago. When I was pregnant, we would buy them in bulk!! My favorite is the Eucalyptus one – its got that minty, refreshing scent and just totally relaxes me! They make it in a salt version as well – I like it okay – but I prefer the bubble bath since the bubbles give it a warmer, cozier feel. I actually like taking baths because it gives me a chance to watch YouTube, put a conditioning mask on my hair & face, & relax all at the same time. Honestly, it’s like having a mini at-home spa night!

I also picked up these balloons from Wal-Mart, lol. I was checking out and saw them hanging from the register and Luke just recently has reached the balloon phase! So I got a few and he and Fitzy were cracking me up with them!! Fitz was scared of them and Luke kept crawling to hit them and then chase them while Fitz was running from them – hysterical! I’m so sidetracked – sorry! Just thought I’d mention that the balloons are also from Wal-Mart and are inexpensive, too.

Okay, this is getting long! Just thought I’d pop in and share a peek of what I think a simple Valentine’s day night in would look like for me… I will link all of my other favorite bathtime/facial products below:

Lotion [this is my must-have for super dry/itchy winter skin!!]

Lip Scrub

Bath Bomb [my faves!]

FRESH FLOWERS! 🙂

Sidenote: I want to get THIS onesie for Luke!!
