Okay, this dress! First of all, a few years ago when Self Portrait dresses got popular – I wore one to a wedding and had tons of questions. I was relieved a dupe version was released soon after this dress became popular because many readers were. This year, a new style (worn above) came out – and I love that it has an off the shoulder detailing w/the lace – it looks beautiful. I did buy mine a while back in store and didn’t try it on unfortunately. I actually packed it for California and was disappointed because it was a little big – I should have gone w/my regular size in this brand which is a small. It was not super flattering on me in the medium since it had extra loose fabric. I opted for the medium because I knew the Self Portrait brand ran super small so I thought this dress may run small as well! ANYWAY! Just a quick run down on sizing. 🙂

As far the hat – I thought I’d share this story. When we got to Laguna on Wednesday I placed an order on Nordstrom. I had been browsing the site on our fight there and saw this hat on their website. I thought it would be perfect for the sunny Cali weather (lol not!) so I overnighted it! I went out to get it Thursday morning and realized the brand was San Diego Hat Co. and it had shipped from Carlsbad. And we were actually loading up to drive to San Diego that afternoon and I was planning to stop in Carlsbad to visit the flower fields. Kind of ironic and it was meant to be! I was showing John the fields online their website and he was like “we have to stop there!”. He knows I’m obsessed w/flowers and doesn’t get annoyed that I am constantly refilled the vases in our house w/flowers.

The flower fields were incredible!! Of course I made a beeline to the pink section first thing! There were tons of people there taking photos and it was really cute! It’s crazy because you take the exit and the flowers are not too far from the exit – you can see them right when you get off the highway. My jaw dropped the second I laid eyes on the fields. It was breathtaking!
