NURSERY RUG IS HERE! [Gettings lots of questions about this!]

Okay, so first things first, we are totally slacking! The last few months have been chaotic as you can probably imagine. Being pregnant has slowed me down quite a bit but I’ve actually shocked myself by how much I’ve been able to get done the last 4 months. Between building a custom home and making the big move into it [last week] + working full time + having a toddler, life has been wild! But honestly, it’s been fun and I’m started to see everything come together. They say with your second child you are much less prepared which is the case for us. I remember being pregnant with Luke and everything was DONE weeks in advance. He had enough clothes for the first two years in his closet! This time around I am just winging it every single day. In fact, we just really started focusing on her nursery last week. My dad came to town and helped John assemble her crib and my BFF came in a few days later and ironed her bumper – huge help! There is still a lot to do- I finally ordered a car seat and a dresser last week so we are hoping to get those in ASAP so we can start getting organized! [This is not a nursery reveal just FYI – if you have questions about anything that will be in a separate blog post down the road once this is down!]

Anyway, on a daily basis I get e-mails and messages from readers asking if I could share some must-haves or just give some peeks into her nursery — mostly from other baby girl expecting mamas! I thought this would be a fun way to just give you a real time look into what is going on over here. Her room is no where near done but I’ve been chipping things away each day and gathering all of the *musts*. This post will be good if you are expecting a baby OR if you are just on the hunt for a good gift for a shower or friend who is expecting. I remember prior to having children I wanted to get gifts that were functional but never really fully understood what was ‘worth it’. Now that I’ve had Luke and have had the privilege of trying tons of products – I have a better understanding of what is necessary or would make a great gift.

Just FYI, everything I’m sharing is from Nordstrom! I purchase everything from shoes, clothing, to beauty & baby on Nordstrom’s site! If you are new to Nordstrom just a heads up that they have basically all family needs – and all price points! One of my favorite brands is BP – it is a more affordable price point for trendy clothing! Also, they have e-gift cards, you can buy online & pick up in store, on-site tailoring, & free shipping & returns. The free shipping & returns has saved me this pregnancy because I have to order 2 sizes in a lot of things and return what doesn’t fit! 🙂 I don’t live near a Nordstrom but if I did I am sure we would take advantage of the buy online & pick up option as well as reserve online & try on in store. We are always on the go and in a hurry so anything that makes life easier is a good thing in my book. Last thing – they have personal stylists for all occasions! A lot of you ask about how I purchase designer goods without living in a state that sells many of them and that is through personal stylists and sales associates who will help you hunt things down!

#1 HALO BASSINET || This thing is AMAZING. We used it with Luke & then months later loaned it to a friend for her newborn and she was like “that thing is THE BEST”. It truly is and it makes the newborn stage so much easier. I

#2. DOCK-A-TOT || Also a must – I actually just ordered the marble cover for ours because we only have one and you learn REAL quick that having a back up is vital when you have spit up going everywhere.

#3. FRESHLY PICKED MOCCASINS || These were the only shoes Luke would keep on during his first year. He did eventually learn how to get them off but for the most part baby shoes are tricky. Babies don’t like them much and are quick to remove them!

#4. NOODLE & BOO EVERYTHING || Seriously – everything. Wipes. Room spray. Lotion. Bath wash. ETC. We use it all and my word does it smell amazing. I’m very particular about scents and I only like certain detergents and soaps used on baby clothing / baby in general and N&B has the BEST. John won’t use regular baby wipes on Luke – he only uses the N&B kind!

#5. LITTLE GIRAFFE TOWELS / BLANKETS || Luke is two and we still use Little Giraffe towels on him! I did just get THIS ONE for the baby girl! We also love their blankets and get TONS of use out of them. I got THIS ONE for baby girl – its a little fluffier but still beautiful!

#6. COMO TOMO BOTTLES || This was the only thing Luke every drank out of- and we swear by them! Everyone I know who has tried them has been like “woah these are the best!”.

#7. BAREFOOT DREAMS BLANKET || So I get a LOT of questions about this because Luke keeps his with him a lot & people will see it on my IG stories and ask! I love BD blankets – I have one I sleep with every night and keep it wrapped around my shoulders and face actually. However, Luke had his first! When I first announced I was pregnant a friend sent Luke a receiving blanket by them and they are SO soft and luxurious- but also wash really well. It’s one of Luke’s favorite blankets.

#8. SWADDLES || This is an obvious thing – and honestly there is such thing as too many! However, I mainly stuck to feminine, sweet ones from Aden & Anais this go-round.

#9. KICKEE PANTS \ COMFY SLEEPERS/PJS || Luke basically lived in Kickee Pants his first year! We had them in every print that was released for boys because they were so comfy and cute! He wore them on flights, around the house, etc. The first few months there is just a lot of sleeping going on so comfy, cute PJs are the best!

  1. I don’t see the crown, hanging on the wall, listed in the “Where to buy”. Where can that be purchased? Thank you!!!!!

  2. This is not a comment but a question: in one of your previous post it looked like a marble case on your cell with lv on it. I was wondering where you might have gotten it. I would appreciate it very much.
