DRUGSTORE MAKEUP PRODUCTS: LOTS OF HITS AND A COUPLE OF MISSES

Hi! In today’s post I’m talking all about drugstore [affordable] makeup products I have been trying! This is the subscriber email that went out to subscribers last week, if you want to join the email list to get early access to the next emails, subscribe HERE. So many products sell out fast so I want to give my followers a chance to get them before they’re gone.  I’m so excited about this post – there are a couple of flops but most of it is good! I filmed myself applying the makeup so I will edit into a video and put it on my stories! Hope you all enjoy!

STEP 1: PRIMING THE SKIN

WET N WILD PhotoFocus Water Drop Primer [Scent: Rose]

e.l.f. Poreless Primer || This is a primer I’ve used for about a year and its a holy grail product for me.

CATRICE 1 Minute Face Protector [Shade: 010 One Fits All] || Okay, this stuff is AMAZING. I can’t even believe how much I loved this! Would highly recommend this!

STEP 2: FOUNDATION ROUTINE

FLOWER Beauty Foundation Buffing Blush  [$11] || I just recently purchased this and OH EM GEE. It is as good as a high end brush. Would definitely recommend.

*MIXED THESE TWO TO MAKE THE RIGHT SHADE, BOTH ARE OLD*

L’Oréal Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation [Shade: 480 Radiant Sand] || This is one of the best drug store foundations – it is just a really good formula in general. Not drying, not too matte, just very natural but still good coverage & not too sheer. It is also buildable.

Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation [Shade: 130 Buff Beige] || This foundation is probably the most worn out of any of my drugstore collection because it truly is full coverage and long wearing. I don’t even really need to build up coverage because this goes on so well – but does not look cheap or cakey. I mixed the two for the right shade bc both are old and one is from wintertime when I was not as tan. I actually loved the two mixed together – my skin looked shockingly good. In the video I’ll add to my stories – you can see it on my face. The combo of the CATRICE 1 Minute Face Protector + these foundations was insane.

STEP 3: EYE SHADOW

COLOURPOP Nude Mood Eyeshadow Palette  [Shade: Nude Mood] || HOLY GUACAMOLE! 😍 This palette was a shock, too! I have been using it regularly because I truly fell in love. There’s a bit of fall out – yet – it works beautifully and is very pigmented. I used Morphe Brushes on my eyes – the JH X Morphe Collab are what I use daily anyway!

STEP 4: CONCEAL

J.Cat Beauty Green Eyesurance Anti-Fatigue Cooling Under Eye Balm Cucumber & Aloe Extract || Just want to make a note that I would not recommend this. Saw and felt no difference.

L’Oréal Infallible Full Wear Waterproof Concealer [Shade: Vanilla]

FLOWER Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer [Shade: Fair]

Both of these concealers are already favorites of mine. I’ve used both for over a year and would highly recommend. The FLOWER on is long time favorite and I like it use it on the darkest part of my under eye! I used my favorite Tarte Sponge to blend it in. My code EMILY15 works on the entire Tarte website if you need anything!

STEP 5: SET WITH POWDER

Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder [Shade: 05 Fair] || I’ve liked this powder for quite some time! It is great for a drugstore product. I do use a powder puff to apply this powder.

STEP 6: CONTOUR

Physicians Formula Sculpting Bronzer [Shade: Mocha] || Was surprised at how well this did! It does not compare to the one I usually use [here’s my daily, holy grail makeup routine!] but it was really good for the price point! I do not have a favorite bronzer – and trust! I have tried them all. I actually don’t even really like many of the high end bronzers. I ended up just using my own that I always use! I used THIS brush to blend in the contour – this is the brush I use daily anyway and it works so amazingly. Use code EMILY15 for 15% off your entire purchase.

STEP 7: BLUSH

Honest Beauty Creme Check Blush [Shade: Coral Peach] || OH EM GEE!!!! This is a goooood buy. I actually have 2 shades because it is THAT good. I use this in my daily routine now. It is SO gorgeous! However!!! The brush I used is the Real Techniques Light Layer Blush Brush& it applied way too much and nearly ruined the entire look. I do not recommend this brush. Also you can use a powder puff to apply thus creme blush, too!

Alternative: Catrice X Eman Cheeky Blush Palette [I used a bit of the bronzy shade!]

STEP 8: HIGHLIGHT

Luminice Highlight & Blush Glow Palette [Shade: Rose Vibes Only] [I actually thought this was pretty good!]

STEP 9: EYES

NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear Eye & Body Liquid Liner [Shade: Black] || Highly recommend – as I have been using this daily for nearly a month on days where I want liner. I saw a girl in the Bottega store in Scottsdale – she was working and assisted my friend. I noticed how amazing her liner was and she recommended this one. I used to love the matte formula but this one is amazing!

L’Oréal Voluminous Original Mascara [Shade: Blackest Black]

Rimmel London Brow This Way Eyebrow Pencil, Soft Brown [I did not work great on me. I prefer a powder, anyway however!]

Kiss Magnetic Tantalize Faux Mink Lashes [I’m still testing out the different brands of magnetic lashes and decided to try these! The shape and style are gorgeous! Stay tuned for my review! If you look at the above photo you will see that part of my inner lash is loose and that tends to happen more so w/more voluminous magnetic lashes that require liner. You actually have to use the liner as recommended and since I tried this AFTER using the NYX liner, I don’t think I gave it a fair chance. I plan to try these out again!]

STEP 10: LIP COMBOS

Revlon Colorstay Long wear Lip Liner [Shade: Nude]

Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs Lip Color [Shade: Nude Lust]

ColourPop Ultra Glossy Lip [Shade: Fantasia]

LIP COMBO PART 2

Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner [Shade: Rich Chocolate]

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick The Luscious Mattes [Shade: Untold Stories]

Maybelline Summer Mckeen Lip Gloss, Ultra-Shiny Glossy Finish [Shade: Barefoot]

FINAL STEP: SPRAY & SET

I used my regular Morphe setting spray to set and then I did use my expensive blurring powder bc nothing really compares to it. It totally blurs out all imperfections! I recommend spending the money on a powder puff – they are something I use my entire routine.
