OUR MASTER BATHROOM REMODEL
This has been one of the most requested posts, ever! Before I jump in, I’ll start with some background on our home situation.. so in the spring of 2016 we bought our home & we were absolutely crazy about it (and still are!). I knew when we bought it that I would be revamping a few areas of it though – I really love the clean, white look as opposed to the darker colors. As soon as we closed on the house, I immediately had the kitchen & part of the master bathroom partially revamped. In the kitchen, I had the floors changed, cabinets painted, new countertops & backsplash – and then in the master bathroom I just changed the cabinets and countertops. We were moving in soon and I didn’t want to spend too much time remodeling so I just did what I knew was a ‘must’ ahead of time.
After we moved in and got settled I decided I wanted to finish the bathroom but waited until this past January to start on that project because I knew it was going to be tough. I knew for sure I wanted a free standing tub, frameless shower, new doors, etc. While we were house shopping in 2015 our realtor took me by this beautiful, new home that she said ‘screamed Emily Gemma’ and oh-my-gosh, it did! The finishes were like I pictured in my ideal dream home but it was also totally out of budget and not in the part of Tulsa that we preferred to be in at the time. Additionally, we knew that we didn’t want to buy a new home because eventually we would want to build a custom home after kids to get exactly what we wanted (this was pre-Luke). Anyway, this house was dreamy – so unique and cool and the one thing that I loved were the doors to the master bathroom (aka the ones you’ve seen me take so many mirror selfies in!).
When it came time to revamping my master bathroom completely, the first thing I did was find out who made the mirrored doors! I knew I wanted a unique bathroom – funky doors, out of the ground faucet for tub, frameless shower with the gold hardware, etc. Rob, the guy who makes the doors, also does beautiful iron work so he did all of the mirrors, window, and doors. He actually headed up the entire project for us – I picked out all of the details (i.e. plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, tub, flooring material, etc.) and he got the job done! We actually were in Maui when he started knocking out the old shower & tub! It was a stressful process but the end result made it all worth it! We also had our closet revamped a bit as well – mainly just a fresh painting & new carpet- but that made a huge difference!
DETAILS LINKED IN WIDGET BELOW
Floors are Carrera marble & shower is the hexagon careers marble. Countertops are an Indian Carrara marble. The fixtures are ‘Champagne Bronze’ color from Delta. I picked them out and mixed and matched styles to get what I wanted – they are not all from the same line. I am linking any and everything else in the widget below – some may be similar options if the exact is sold out.
