As many of you probably have seen on the news, we [some of the southern states] were recently hit with a crazy ice storm [if you are wondering about my clashing mittens… I was desperate!]. John is interviewing here in Dallas tomorrow so spent the entire day Saturday traveling here. What should’ve been a 2 hour drive turned into a 6 hour drive.. err! Anyway, while in Dallas, I had the privilege of spending time with Amanda from Backroad Photography. She’s mainly a wedding photographer so if you or someone you know are in the market, make sure to check her out! She is so much fun to be around & phenomenal with the camera.
Fact: I have four faux fur vests in my closet. Why? I am not sure but I believe it is because I am not a huge jacket/coat person. I don’t like to be hot & if I am out shopping and get warm, I don’t want to carry my coat around. Thus, I lean towards vests! Not only that, but they are the ultimate winter accessory – faux fur is so chic! Now, if you’ve been following, you’ve noticed turtlenecks are my go-to also… since I don’t love wearing jackets, I always layer-up using a turtleneck as the base & they add a nice print if you wear a striped one. 🙂

I 100% agree with not being a coat/jacket person. I always use my fur as a coat and bundle it up with a sweater and layers. This is the best for a day of shopping because you look adorbs but so not have to carry around a big puffy winter coat in the jam packed stores!

Your hair is aspirational. I want! I actually just bought my first faux fur vest, and I'm in love! Unfortunately, Chicago gets too cold to wear only that so I haven't been able to wear it recently. Maybe that will change soon?
