With the amazing weather we had over the weekend, I enjoyed wearing short sleeves & open toed shoes. This particular top is one I picked up at Nordstrom (only $34) and comes in so many bright, beautiful colors. I highly recommend them to you all. They are nice & long (especially in the back) & are great for casual looks – or tucked into a fun printed skirt/pants. The colors available online don’t show up as vibrant as they are in person (or maybe it is just my computer) but you can see who rich & vibrant the pink is in my photos.

I did this weeks blog photos over the weekend because I’m going in today for a special peel for my face. I don’t talk a lot about my skin on my blog because it’s not my favorite subject, I usually just talk about makeup because that is much more pleasant. My skin is not the best… and for over 6 years I’ve been battling acne scarring & such. Before we moved to Virginia I had an appointment to get Fraxel Dual (supposedly removes scars/produces new collagen) done but when I showed up for the appointment the doctor was not willing to do the procedure because of a rare disease I have that makes me allergic to the sun (whole other story). Anyway, I met with a dermatologist here who recommended a series of special, medical grade peels that should help reduce the appearance of scars… I’m not getting my hopes up too much but I am excited. It’s not your average chemical peel – it is supposed to be more intense. I was told that on day 3 my face will be “on the floor” due to the peeling(!!). I get e-mails from people asking me about skin care & I never have much to say because I have had such bad skin and don’t feel like I am one to talk (although I’ve become a pro at covering up bad skin), but I figured I would share a little about this process, if you guys have any interest.

  1. I too battle acne and have scarring, can you share what you use to cleanse and to cover the scars? It would be nice if you posted about it, there are so many women with this issue and of course nobody wants to talk about it. I think you always look flawless & like I always say….it could be worse!! xo

  2. Beautiful scarf!

How did the peel go?? Sorry to hear about the scars…although I don't think anyone has ever noticed in the pictures! You are beautiful!! Have you tried natural methods like Aloe Vera?? It *REALLY* helps with scarring but I'm not too sure of the details of how you could apply it to your face, but might be worth look into!!

  3. Good luck w/ your peels, and do please share more about them. What type of peels are they, TCA? I've heard deep peels can do wonders for skin problems. I hope it works for you!

  4. It's so refreshing to see you open up about your skin! I have had acne for 9 years, and have a lot of scarring and splotchiness from when it got really really bad. I see your blog and instagram photos, which look flawless, and I've always assumed you had perfect skin that I could never have. So, I appreciate your honesty so much! I'm curious to hear about your peel process and wish you the best! Hopefully it helps you feel more confident about your skin 🙂

  5. will be sending positive thoughts your way. I really hope this peel does what you want it to. Your makeup always looks flawless. I feel your pain on skin issues. I have a few of my own that I just can not get under control. I have decided it's time to see a dermatologist again. Since I can not get a handle on my crazy skin. I will be sending positive thoughts your way, and hoping for a very positive outcome. Good luck with your peel.

  6. Good luck with the peels. I battled acne as an adult and used accutane to help when all other medicines had failed. You look lovely. I Would love to hear followup.
