Aside from hair, my most commonly asked questions regard my make-up routine. And I finally have an updated You-Tube video on my daily make-up routine, lol I even filmed it in pj pants, ha! Keep in mind (yes, I always say this..), I am SO far from being a You-Tuber or makeup artist!! I just do these videos bc I get SO many questions. I kept it on fast forward so that it goes by pretty quickly! It’s under 5 minutes. 🙂

Background on my skin type: I was crazy oily prior to Accutane. That’s much better now but I still have to wear foundations aimed for oily skin types. They just wear much longer on me! I don’t have a lot of acne anymore, mainly just scarring and hyper pigmentation that I like to keep covered.

Details:
Primer (Also recommend this primer!)
-The foundation I am using in the video is HERE in “Beige Medium)”. I typically use Estee Lauder Double Wear in “Dessert Beige”. The Marc Jacobs foundation does come highly recommended – it’s awesome for oily skin & does stay put all day. The only downside is the packaging, it comes loose easily.. mainly when I am traveling.
Also, both foundations are full coverage and are buildable! Before accutane, I did more “layers”.
Sigma F80 (foundation brush)
Chanel Long-wear Powder (highly recommend if you are oily.)
(I set my under eyes w/ MAC’s “emphasize”.)
-Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow (camel) (used THIS brush)
-MAC’s “Nylon” Eyeshadow (used THIS brush)
MAC Paint Pot in “Painterly”
MAC Pigment in “Tan” (used THIS brush)
Anastasia Contour Kit (MUST-HAVE) *use for setting under eyes & contour
Nars ‘ITA’ Brush (contouring brush)
Hourglass Bronzer (Radiant light) (MUST-HAVE) (used THIS brush & THIS brush.)
Bobbi Brown Blush in “Sand Pink” (also love Pastel Pink)
Anastasia Pomade in “Soft Brown” w/THIS brush (this brush is a must have!)
-Also use Brow Wiz on my brows where the threading lady messed up! :/
-Bobbi Brown Mascara (holy.cow. I love!! Makes your eyelashes extra curly..)
My lips: “Spice” + “Beige Tribute
My leopard sweater is Topshop (last winter.) My tan sweater is Tory Burch (almost identical HERE.)
My monogram is here. (4XL)
My David Yurman ring is HERE.

  1. Ann I dont know what baking is either! I have two questions Emily (you always look flawless btw) how do you keep your face from looking cakey? i have dry spots and when i do concealer on top of foundation you can tell. Also, do you just contour your nose with the darkest shade? or do you fill it in with highlighter? xo Amanda closetedfashiob.blogspot.com

  2. I went to get the Hourglass Bronzer at Sephora after reading a previous post you made about it & I wasn't sure which color to pick out. So, I asked an employee there and she said the Radiant would be way too dark, but we are pretty much the same skin tone! So glad I know for sure which one to get now because I cannot wait to try it! Your makeup is fabulous:)

  3. I don't wear a ton of makeup really – just the layer of foundation, set it with a light powder & bronzer! I only use concealer where I need it — and I always spray with the Fix+ which helps melt it all into one layer!! 🙂 I use a contouring shade from the contour kit to do my nose and a highlight shade to fill it in lightly! It helps make you nose look sooo much skinnier!!!

  4. Love your style and videos! I have a question: do you ever wear fake eyelashes? I have tried doing them myself but always end up gluing my eyes closed and end up with a big mess! If you have any advice I would love some tips, thanks!

  5. Love it love it love it Emily! I especially liked how you contour – I'm going to have to try that. And your lashes are GORGEOUS!! Thanks for sharing your tips 😉

  6. LOVE your makeup posts. I'm obsessed with all things makeup (though I'm not great at it!) and have a lot of these products and excited to try more! What color is your Chanel powder in?? I think our skin tone is very similar with other colors I see you using! Thank you!! And thank you for all of your tutorials..keep them coming!!

  7. great information.
