Rainy Day Edge at Palais Royale

FAUX LEATHER JACKET: BlankNYC (highly recommend) | THERMAL TOP: Free People (obsessed w/these) | DENIM: Frame | BOOTIES: old (similar HERE & HERE) | SCARF: H&M (similar here) | HANDBAG: Gucci | LIPS: ‘Spice’ + ‘Blankety’ + Plumping Gloss

First things first… THANK YOU all so so so much for the outpouring of love and support. John and I were completely blown away by the kindness shown to us after yesterday’s big announcement. Holy cow! I really can’t even put into words how special it was to get each of your comments! This babe is going to be covered in lots of love!!

Moving on though, I thought I’d share some photos from a super rainy day in Paris when we visited Palais Royale! We shot some of our pregnancy announcement photos here also but I’ll share those in a few weeks. It was a gross rainy day so I opted for a messy bun, faux leather, and booties I didn’t mind getting rained on..

A few things to cover – these Free People thermal tops (w/hole for thumb) are the bomb.com. (People still say that right?) They are not only warm but great for layering and also long in the back. They come in a few colors. Also, my faux leather jacket is a purchase from last year? It’s one of the best faux leather jackets for the price point.. in fact, I let Elle borrow it and then I went into her closet and took it back and she was like “what!!!” so she went and got one also. We both love this jacket because it looks expensive but it is not bad. Oh and my booties are old but I love love love taupe booties- the color goes with black & brown! These wedges are perfect if you are doing lots of walking!

Also, one more day left to enter last weeks Nordstrom ($200) gift card giveaway! 🙂

Oh! Also, this is up to you guys – but would you like to see posts dedicated to the pregnancy?! Typically I would assume you would find that boring but I’m getting loads of questions and I like reading that stuff. Just let me know!

Thanks to Nordstrom for sponsoring todays post.

  4. First of all, I didnt get to say so yesterday but a big CONGRATS to you and your husbamd! I wish you all the best and im so excited to hear all about the pregnancy so please share (as much as you would like to)! I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy <3

  5. Congratulations on the baby! I was so excited to hear the news and I had wondered if you would include baby stuff in your blog. Personally, I think you should include it, not only for your readers to enjoy and share in your excitement, but also for yourselves. It would be a nice way to document your journey with the little one. The days go by so quickly and trust me before you know it they are growing up before your eyes. Things you think you'll remember you can forget, so with that being said I absolutely think it would be wonderful to include baby Gemma! You could show us when you decorate the nursery it will be so much fun!

  6. Yes I would love to see pregnancy posts! My husband and I are waiting to have kiddos but when the time comes I'd love to see how you styled your bump & all the fun things that come along with babies! Congrats again! ????????????????????

  7. Duh…. Of course we want to be apart of thing exciting time in your life!! Would love for u to take us along with you down this wonderful journey!! Everything from skin care, clothing, cravings and most of all the decor for this much LOVED little one!! ????????????

  8. I think it's a great idea. It's a huge part of your life changing right now, so share away. I teach school and kids are absolutely terrific, amazing, terrible, funny, exhausting, liberating, and the best "patience maker" God can use in our lives to grow us up and many times get a strong dose of ourselves in the process. I'm as excited as can be for your all. I am jealous though that you have a Doctor just built right in to the whole family thing for you.
BTW my cousin's husband is a doctor in Cleveland, OH, and a Navy doctor. That's cool your husband is from Ohio as well. Prayers and blessings, 🙂 Amanda

  9. One of fave looks of yours!! So cute! We stayed like a two minute walk from there when we went to Paris this summer and loved that area! Perfect photoshoot backdrop haha! Also would love a pregnancy post so I can bookmark it for later haha! 🙂

  10. I would LOVE to see pregnancy updates! I think all your followers love your blog, but love you and John too 🙂 We feel like we are your friends lol, and need updates 😉

  11. Again, SO SO happy for you and John, Emily! I'm loving that Free People thermal top. Didn't think thermal tops would look that great in an outfit, but your outfit is cute with it! Personally, for me, I would have to say no to the pregnancy posts as I read your blog for beauty and fashion and refer to it quite often when I shop or am looking for ideas/inspiration. Maybe do a newsletter specific to pregancy/babies and those who want pregancy posts can subscribe to it? Just a thought. Anyway, I need to master a messy bun like yours, lol!

  12. YES Yes yes yes yes to the pregnancy posts! Maternity fashion, progress EVERYTHING! So extremely happy for the two of you. I Cannot wait to follow along on this journey with you. I am loving your snap's too BTW

  13. I love Free people but it´s so expensive to order outside of Sweden 🙁 Not many online stores have the brand (my luck as always) but I hope that I some day will get my hands on a cozy sweater 😀

  16. Hi Emily- I have been following your blog for a while now and love to see your style. Congrats on Baby Gemma, what an exciting time!! On snapchat I saw your Christmas tree that your sister helped with, can y'all do a tutorial on the ribbon. I'm sure it's easier than it looks, but your trees have looked so pretty in the past.
    Love seeing your pics- Erica
