FIRST THINGS FIRST: Express is offering 40% off sitewide [*online only*]! WOOHOO! You guys know I’m obsessed with Express denim and sweaters and even their basics – like camis & tees! I’ve been talking about my favorites from there at least 1-2x per month for seriously the past year or 2?! They have so many things that are designer dupes that are just so cute and so much more affordable. Most of you know I am self employed so I rarely ever have to dress in business attire but Express is a great place to go if you need office wear. I love their pencil skirts, silky camis to go under blazers or cardigans [I own 2-3 of of the black/white ones because they are such a huge staple to my wardrobe!], & pants – many of them are different like THESE which are SO different but perfect for the office & so chic and also THESE!
As soon as I finished my MBA I moved to Virginia to be with John and got my first ‘real job’ working for an IT company and was so intimidated by having to purchase a new ‘work wardrobe’. In undergrad/grad school I mainly wore jeans so I had never invested in slacks or skirts or blazers. In addition to that, I like funkier looks- I didn’t want to wear just black slacks and a white button down, ya know?! I wore a lot of pants like THESE and also paired pencil skirts with tops that had some ‘flare’ like THIS one which I just added to my cart! Oh, and boyfriend blazers– love this red one!
Anyway! I just had to mention all of this because recently I’ve had requests for workwear staples for fall and I feel like I am not much help but Express is a great place to look because they’ve got some really chic pieces that happen to be on sale!! 🙂
I’ll still link a few of my favorites from Express in the widget below that aren’t workwear though! AND, one last thing [lol -neverending post!] but when I went to Express before we went to Jackson Hole I got this outfit and didn’t try it on OR I would have gone down a size in the sweater and also in the skirt but the skirt only had this size left and I was determined to make it work- I am obsessed with the color!
