Pearls, Sequins, & Studs… Oh My!

Chambray Popover, J. Crew Factory || Sequin Tank, old, wishing I had this one – it’s even on sale! || Hot Pink Pencil Skirt, J. Crew || Sunnies, House of Harlow || Shoes, Torrid ($34) || Bracelets, Happy Wrist|| Lipstick, MAC Candy Yum Yum || Watch, Michael Kors || Leopard Print Foldover Clutch, Clare Vivier & here || Oversized Pearl Necklace, Zara
The whole sequin-tank-over-button down look is one of my favorites during the wintertime. If you are a new reader, I should warn you that I love cold weather because it gives me more opportunity to layer. I love layering! That being said, I didn’t know if this look would be appropriate for the summer months, but I’ve found that it is not too warm. Adding a sequin tank to an outfit gives the look an upgrade! Whether you are going to the office, church, or maybe even a wedding, this is fun way to dress up a chambray & pencil skirt.
Okay, now. Let’s talk about the shoes. Rachel Parcell & her pink Rockstud Valentinos made me go a little crazy. (Did you know she liked TWO of my photos on Instagram??) It’s no secret that I love the color pink, so when I saw those beautiful, studded, $900 shoes, I fell in lust. Per usual, these types of purchases do not make the medical school budget so I did what any bargainista, med-student wife would do and began hunting for Valentino-inspired shoes. Thanks to a Twitter/Instagram friend, I was led to TORRID.com where I found these Valentino Rockstud Knockoffs at $44! (Now they are $30!) No joke. We all need to give Heather a round of applause for finding these & sharing! If you are not aware, Torrid.com is a plus-size clothing store – thus the shoes run a little wider. I recommend sizing down if you are a half-size. (I am an 8.5 and I needed the 8.) Also, let it be known that these are mid-heel  – so they are actually super easy to walk in and rather comfortable. Not to mention, mid-heel is kind of the in-thing!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Being home is no doubt one of the best things. Spending Father’s day with my dad, the weekend with my niece/nephew, & laughing so I hard I cried while being with my Mom has reminded me why I love Arkansas so much. I’ll be sharing photos from my weekend tomorrow!

PS. Laura from Walking in Memphis in High Heels & I are hosting a Posh Party this Tuesday evening! In addition, we will be on the Poshmark Blog sharing our favorite Polka Dot looks. Hope you all will join us for the party. If you have an item in your closet that has polka dots, let us know and maybe your item will be featured on the blog!

Thank you for reading!

  1. OMG! I've been waiting for this post since your IG sneak this weekend. Thank you so much for sharing the source of these gorgeous pink heels – I just ordered a pair of my own!

  2. I seriously was at a loss of words when I saw this outfit! This might compete to be one of your best ever. You surely are a master at layering, but you also have an eye for style! I am in lust for this outfit, and you just might be my favorite person ever for finding the valentino inspired pumps!

    xoxo
