Oh. My. Goodness! If you were following me throughout March & April, you probably heard (lol, ok saw or read) me talk about wishing I could fit into THIS Self Portrait dress. In several posts where I talked about spring dresses I was loving, I mentioned that dress. I was big and pregnant and couldn’t even think about wearing a dress like that though! And I knew I wasn’t going to be buying it after Luke because I’d be trying to lose the weight and wouldn’t want to spend so much money on a dress I couldn’t wear a ton. Anyway, all of that to say that while in Dallas I saw THIS Olive green dress that is almost identical to the Self Portrait one… except at a fraction of the price! Woohoo! I seriously adore the ruffle ‘sleeves’ and how the two sides are totally different… and if you saw yesterday’s blog post, you know I am loving olive green right now. I am wearing a large in this dress for size reference… the medium fit okay but this dress is more of a ‘mini’ dress so the medium was a big shorter. I’d say it does run a little small, so maybe go up one size but if you are tall (I’m 5’7)  you’ve been warned. 🙂

Any who! That was a long explanation haha. Today we are going to lunch with our friends from residency because they are going to be moving next week – it is really bittersweet. So happy to be done w/residency but these people became our best friends. 🙁 After that I’m going to take my mom to a few Parade of Homes houses! I did an Insta-live yesterday while touring them and she stayed at the house w/Luke while he napped so today I am going to take her!

  2. Hi Emily…I was wondering if you could do a post on your workout routine now that u have had luke. I am always checking out ur instagram and website and honestly you look amazing after giving birth. I had my second boy in Sept and 2nd time around was a c-section and I’m still working on getting a flat tummy. It’s very hard to go to the gym with two kids..if u could do a post on ur routine and how often u workout it would be awesome! !!!

  3. GORGEOUS as always, em! so obsessed with those ruffles! i haven’t been able to snag enough olive green lately too. it’s one of my favorite colors to wear all year round!

  4. I love that dress on you! I hate that it runs small though–i wish they would tell you that in sizing! Loved watching your ig live of the parade of homes…i love touring new homes and getting inspo for our next home!

  5. The white lace self portrait midi dress with this neckline is on sale at Bergdorf Goodman right now, a more than $200 reduction on the original retail price. As of this morning, they still have size 4 in stock (and size 8 if you want to give yourself more time on the baby weight!). I bought the striped cotton version of the Self Portrait midi dress with this asymmetrical neckline for a daytime summer wedding, and it’s awesome. So unique and well-constructed. (and the striped version is on sale on Matchesfashion.com as well.) So, this is a good dupe, but the real thing can be found at a somewhat accessible price point right now.

  6. how do i see all the comments? i wrote a comment about a workout…and now i don’t know if you replied…lol

  7. Hi!!!! Loving your review on the olive green joa ruffle dress. I know you mentioned you sized up because it was so miNi and short. I was wondering how the fit Was elsewhere? I am short, only 5ft. And waS thinking of ordering a medium which is my normal size. I am a 34d but overall pretty pEttite elsewhere so i was neRvous to order a large or Else have the medium too small to zip. Thoughts?
