SKINCEUTICALS FACIAL CHIT CHAT [WHAT I LOVE THE MOST!]

I think by now you guys are all aware that I credit a lot my skin improvements over the last 5 years to the brand SkinCeuticals. In fact, I *think* the brand approached me because they’d seen that I post about their products quite a bit. If you are newer to following me, the back story is that I had horrific skin for about a decade. I had bad acne and in college developed cystic acne and I was a picker… 🙈 so that really did a number to my skin. THEN! I dealt with large pores, texture, and dark spots / discoloration. I was that girl that always felt more comfortable with foundation on for a few years. Luckily, the PA I see for skincare told me to start on the SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0 [I started on the lowest and worked my way to 1 – just FYI!!!! That is important!] And around the same time a girlfriend in Arizona got me started on the C E Ferulic and those two were the items that really made huge improvements in my skin color and quality all around. Over time, as I have had 2 kids and ages – I have incorporated more products and my skin has continued improving. Now, if you watch my stories – this is all old news to you and you may be here to learn more about the facials I have had done at FIG Med Spa here in Tulsa. So, first of all – FIG [For Inner Good] is a SkinCeuticals flagship store so they carry all of the product lines and have extra *stuff* that is really cool! Example, if you see that photo above their is a big circular ‘thing’, a Skin Scope, that allows Dr. Cristie [owner of FIG] to look at your skin and see what is going on– I will post some IG stories showing mine! It is crazy! It shows where there is dryness, congestion, dehydration, darkness, etc. It basically just highlights your skin type and what your skin needs! I was excited last week when I went because my skin had a blue color to it [mostly] which is what shows healthy skin. I’m really into my skincare routine and try to stay on it no matter how exhausted so I was happy to see that! However, I did have a bit of congestion on my chin and I do have a few dark spots so I am using their Discoloration Defense now. Anyway! That’s kind of an idea of what it is like  to visit FIG. After looking at m my skin and listening to my concerns, Dr. Cristie decided on the Micropeel Sensitive Skin Solution and it was AMAZING. I had done it several times before but not sensitive so this time we switched it up a little! Basically Amanda, the esthetician, started by cleansing my skin and then dermaplaning lightly. This removes dry, dead skin & hairs. Then she did the Micropeel and let kit set for a few seconds. It was a slightly tingle – maybe a little heat but nothing bad at all! I enjoy it honestly because that is my sign that it is doing its job! She had a fan on my face too so maybe that helped. Then we did a quick red light treatment, extracted a couple of pores on my nose, and then the Vitamin C Firming Masque – which I love!!! It felt too good. I left with the smoothest skin and my makeup looked incredible for weeks. I felt like    the combo of the peel and masque just cleaned and softened up my skin because my pores were improved SO much! The Micropeel has Lactic Acid and Niacin in it which are ingredients I personally love! The lactic acid is a hydrating acid that lightly exfoliates but is not drying and the Niacin helps with brightening & smoothing. This specific facial I did about a month ago and I did go back before my friends wedding to do another variation of it because I enjoyed it so much. Honestly, the warm bed immediately relaxes me when I go to FIG, lol! I know I am in good hands so I just lie back and relax! 😊

SKINCEUTICALS FAVORITES – A BREAKDOWN

AM:

C E Ferulic OR Phloretin CF Gel [love the gel formula more so the last 6+ months since it is a bit easier to travel with! Here’s the blog post I did on the differences in the SkinCeuticals Vitamin C products.]

Discoloration Defense

Metacell Renewal B3

AOX+ Eye Gel

Phyto A+ Brightening Treatment

PM: [I alternate nights using these products –  I do not layer these!]

Resveratrol B E

Retinol 1.0

Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight

Each of these^ night time products serves a different purpose but all work extremely well for improving the look of your skin! SkinCeuticals high-concentration retinol cream is available in three strengths and ideal for most skin types with visible aging concerns. The Retinol 1.0 is one you work your way up to overnight. You really need to start on the lowest and work your way to the 0.3, 0.5 and then Retinol 1.0. Also, this is not a product you use every single night. It is important to establish consistent skin tolerance before advancing to a higher concentration. I recommend using once or twice a week the first few weeks gradually increasing frequency to every other night, then every night as tolerated. As for the other 2 favorite PM products, those are phenomenal and I use in between the nights I use retinol!

Thanks to SkinCeuticals for sponsoring today’s post.
