The Ultimate Little Black Dress

DRESS: Felicity & Coco (true to size) | HEELS: Valentino (more colors here) | BAG: Prada (similar Tory Burch style here) | SUNGLASSES: Prada | BRACELETS: Rustic Cuff (part of Nsale), Love Always c/o  | WATCH: Michele | RING: BaubleBar c/o | LIPS: Stripdown + Madere + Maximizer | EARRINGS: J.Crew

On Saturday I helped host a shower for my best friend here in Tulsa! She’s having a little boy in September and I literally cannot wait for him to get here. (One of his presents was a hat, blanket, onsie from HERE – and it was a hit!). Anyway, I went with this black pencil dress for the shower – just to keep it simple! I’m pretty picky about anything pencil because of my body type but I really loved the fit of this dress. It’s a closet staple that you can style a million different ways.

Thanks to each of you who kept me in your prayers over the weekend or sent well wishes. I am feeling fine, just really, really tired. As I was editing these photos, I noticed you can still see some of the adhesive on my arm/legs from the tape/electrodes.. I promise I took a shower! I just couldn’t get it all off – they had stuck electrodes ALL over my body and I kept finding them on me – and when I pulled them off they pulled my fake tanner off, lol. And also, now that I’ve called attention to it – I now have so many bruises all over my arms and legs – I guess I fell over my desk chair when this happened so over the weekend the bruises started to appear.

  1. Em – You look like a celebrity in this dress with your hair styled and those fabulous shoes!!! I'm so sorry you went through that experience. I'm glad you are doing well! Make sure you are eating and drinking water! I fainted once and had this huge ordeal with blood tests and a terrible bruise along with cut on my head. In the end they didn't know and said it could have been from dehydration. I am keeping you in my prayers!

  2. Oh my gosh I hope that you are feeling better!!! So scary. 🙁 Sometimes we just need to take easy.. I hope that you were able to relax this weekend. You look stunning though and that dress is amazing on you. I love it and I also love those shoes!!

  3. The adhesive from the electrodes really are a pain to get off! Try dish soap and warm water, or if you're really desperate, acetone (nail polish remover) should do the trick. That may take off your fake tan even more though!

I love how you paired this simple black dress with a pop of color in the heels!
