THE NEW SKINCEUTICALS NECK REPAIR SKINCARE PRODUCT // WHY I LOVE IT & SWEAR BY IT
If there’s one brand that I always know I can count on as far as skincare, it is SkinCeuticals. After years of cystic acne and a round of Accutane, I had a lot to do on my skin to ‘repair’ the damage that had been done. After having Luke & finishing nursing him, the girl who does my Botox recommend a SkinCeuticals products to me and when I started using daily and saw improvement, I’d ask for another recommendation… and the rest is history. Out of all of my skincare favorites, 3 are all by the SkinCeuticals brand. Their CE Ferulic is a daily must [all of this is in my skincare post!], the Retinol Night Cream is what I swear by for my pores/texture, and the Overnight Glycolic 10 is ‘newer’ to me but a must. [I think it is a fairly new product, I have been using it for about 6months or so and I’m on bottle #3 already!] Anyway, I’m writing all of this into this blog post because this is a brand that has helped me tremendously and I’ve been fortunate to form a relationship. A few weeks back, they let me know they were releasing a neck cream called Tripeptide-R Neck Repair and asked if I’d like to try it and of course I jumped all over the opportunity! Did not even think twice about it! It is funny because a year or two ago, I would have thought “oh I don’t need any neck creams, my neck is fine!!”, but I feel like I’ve become all too aware of how important it is to care for that area of your skin and how it can age since we kind of ‘skip’ thinking about it since we all tend to focus more on our faces [in terms of skincare!]. My mom is actually who made me more aware of the aging of neck skin – something I never noticed. She pointed out to me that her neck is ‘crepe’ and that the loose skin just tends to sag over time and how it looks different than the skin on her face because she uses so many amazing products daily on her face. Ever since she pointed this out, I alway work my good skincare products down my neck and onto my chest when I get ready for bed! I typically just take what is left of the product on my hands and pat it onto my neck and chest.
Okay, I am rambling, I know but I really wanted to share this product because I’ve more recently had women DM me asking what the best neck creams were – something that is a ‘new’ question I’ve began receiving. Not only do our necks age over time but sun exposure and just looking down at our phones or laptops causes lines and things, ya know?! Also, if you are like me and use makeup and self tanner on your neck & chest it is important to really exfoliate and get pores clean there too. I noticed that when I use self tanner sometimes it sinks into pores and then I have tiny little dark spots actually! I’ve been the Tripeptide-R Neck Repair each night for all of these reasons! I’m pretty big on medical grade skincare and I enjoy reading about ingredients and products and learning why they work and what they do. The Tripeptide-R Neck Repair has a slow release retinol in it- so it is not super strong like the one I use on my face. The skin on your neck is so delicate so the .2% of retinol combined with the tripeptide concentrate is gentle enough but still powerful enough to improve signs of neck aging [lines & wrinkles] while also exfoliating/smoothing texture & firming the skin so that it wrinkles less. You can use the product AM & PM but starting off, I just did PM because I didn’t know how powerful it would be. With the brand’s Retinol Night Cream – I started off using it 2 nights a week and over night built up to 4 nights per week. However, I was reading up on this and they say that you can actually mix this with your moisturizer and use it on your face as well to acclimate your skin to retinol in general. Pro tip- always apply in an upward motion – don’t tug on your skin as you apply any skincare product! I use it on my chest and work my way up my neck and up to my jaw. Using this on your neck and jaw area will help tighten the skin [along with firming it] and helps improve the contour / look in general!
Overall, I’ve really fallen in the love with this product and I’m actually proud of myself for being proactive about caring for the neck/chest areas since I was not proactive so much with acne years ago! I definitely had to and still work very hard to improve the affect of acne and now I’m all about being on top of it so that I don’t ever have to go to extremes to fix any type of damage.
