Skincare Routine Order Application + How I Use Beautycounter Vitamin C & Overnight Peel

I get a lot of questions regarding skincare + the order I apply products so I thought I’d quickly share that and also share a quick review of the Sephora X Beautycounter Products – the Vitamin C Serum called All Bright C Serum & the Overnight Resurfacing Peel. I get a lot of e-mails about all of this really – questions in regard to the proper order to apply skincare, questions asking about clean products with effective ingredients. Beautycounter is a clean line and I know that this is super important to many of you – especially those of you with children. Beautycounter has lots of children’s products that are all clean and totally safe. Anyway, not the point but I thought it would be fun to share my review of the Beautycounter products – they are available on Sephora’s website for a limited time!

Overnight Resurfacing Peel || Okay, the name alone got me SOOOO excited because I am ALL about an ‘overnight resurfacing peel’! You guys know how I am about my skin and texture. I work at improving my skin daily. I try new products weekly and I find hits & misses so I love sharing the hits. This product has some of my favorite acids: AHA & BHA + glycolic, malic, & lactic. Now, during my pregnancies with the babies, I used lactic acid a lot since it was safe and it also improves hydration which is wild. This peel is something you use at night and it helps to brighten, smooth texture, exfoliate, etc. It’s a power product and it is something that is effective – yet clean. No need to worry about bad ingredients! It takes some powerful ingredients to really improve your skin if you have troubled skin so this is an amazing option if you want to up your skincare game and not use unsafe ingredients. I recommend implementing this into your night time routine and go slowly. The different acids are powerhouses and honestly if you are not used to them, you will want to really space this out. I use very strong product and acids and have for years because of my cystic acne past so I am acclimated to strong, powerful products. If you are newer to powerful skincare, I would start by using this every 3x a week. It will definitly tingle – if you are newer to these types of products. Tinging is a sign it is working! It is like working out ya know- when you get sore – you know things are ‘improving’. Now, because I use strong products often, this does not tingle to me. Actually I take breaks from stronger products and I really liked this for maintaining my chemical exfoliation / radiance as it does not burn it take a toll on my skin. You will see a difference overnight just FYI – but you can use it 4x a week overtime and you will really see improvement! Each of the acids have a specific purpose – cellular turnover, exfoliation, brightening/radiance, & nourishing – so it really is loaded with good stuff – w/o irritation.

My nighttime routine for using this product: Makeup Removing Balm > Cleanser > Toner > Overnight Resurfacing Peel [let absorb for 4-5 minutes] > Moisturizer

All Bright C Serum || You all know the drill on Vitamin C – I have talked about it a lot and reviewed a few favorites. I am a big fan of Vitamin C and I feel like it is a ‘under rated’ step in the skincare routine. Really, I regret not familiarizing my self with it when I was in my early 20s. I just started using one daily in the last 3 years and it definitely shows. Here’s the kicker with Vit C – lots of brands come out w/them but the only way they are really effective is if the concentration and mix is correct. I won’t get science-y on you but not all Vitamin C Serums are created equal. Before I explain why I like this one, I will just share what the purpose of this step is… it brightens your skin tone, makes it more even, fights off daily ‘bad stuff’ you are exposed to in the environment, and heals/works to improve skin overall. Now, the All Bright C Serum is $79 which is half of the price of the others I approve of – and it is made clean w/safe ingredients. This is one of the reasons I wanted to mention it to you all. This one also has turmeric in it which is an ingredient that does many good things on your behalf, lol! I drop turmeric into my morning ACV drink if you all remember! Anyway, the combo of ingredients used in this formula are brightening, hydrating, & plumping.  You will want to use this daily – in your morning routine!

☀️My morning routine for using this product: Cleanse > Tone > All Bright C Serum >  HA > Moisturizer > SPF!!! [You have to use an SPF when you use either of the products!]

  1. Do you have a post on your current skincare routine? Really just curious on what toner you use. I love all your skincare posts! I am blessed to not having many skin issues, but I’m clueless on what products do what. And the order you are supposed to use them!

    Thanks!

  2. I’ve been a follower of yours for years and find this sponsorship a little surprising considering you’ve always taken a hard stance on not promoting MLM products. Being available at Sephora does not take away from the fact that this is an MLM. Your stance on promoting MLMs has wavered in the past (you did a sponsorship with Mary Kay several years ago) and it’s fine if you want to promote MLM products now. I just wish you would be a little more transparent about the MLM products you will and will not support.

  3. I’ve always wondered about the quality of beauty counter and now that you’ve tried it, I’m game

  4. Thank you for reviewing the Vitamin C product in particular. I have been on the fence about ordering the CE Ferulic by Skin Ceuticals because it’s super pricey, but have considered the Beauty Counter option because it’s HALF the price! Now I’m sold, thanks again!
