Act IV by Danielle Lauder, Estée Lauder Makeup Collection

Talk about the most gorgeous packaging, ever – right?!?! I was over the top thrilled to be able to try Act IV, a limited edition Estee Lauder Makeup collection by Danielle Lauder. If you have followed me for years, you probably remember that Estée Lauder Double Wear was the only foundation I could wear for years- prior to Accutane. I was very oily and had scars and it was the only foundation that would stay put on my oily skin while also covering acne scars. I was asked if I wanted to try this new collection by Estée Lauder’s great-granddaughter Danielle Lauder, and I was thrilled to even have the opportunity. The collection itself is really special in that the name ‘Act IV’ is a cinematic reference to Danielle as a fourth generation Lauder Family member as well as her passion for beauty & Hollywood glamour. Danielle created the line with cameras & lighting in mind, she studied theatre and acting, which is super interesting to me.

At first glance, the products are insanely gorgeous! The packaging is truly beautiful – just having it on my vanity is like having home decor! The marble & rose gold details are so elegant & clean. I spent the last 5ish weeks trying some of the products out before I shared on my blog but I did snap some photos of the products before I used them simply because of the stunning aesthetic.

Now, as far as the products are concerned I have some feedback on a few of them & thought I’d share!

Best Picture MULTI-LOOK PALETTE | At first glance, the palette seemed a bit out of my comfort zone. I am not big on colors on my eyes at all!  You guys know I stick to my bronzy/gold/tan shades. One day when I was just at home and wasn’t even going out, I wanted to try this and just see what I thought and I ended up really liking Palette. I find that purple suits brown eyes well. The one thing I noticed and loved was that the Smokey & Ivory shades are SUPER functional for day to day wear and the coral/blush matte shade actually makes a great crease transition color [I use it lightly] but also as a blush. In general, the formula for the palette is excellent!

Spotlight HIGHLIGHTER | This was probably my favorite piece of the collection & to be frank, I was a bit skeptical to even try it seeing that it had purple tones! My first thought was “oh no, not on my textured skin!” & one evening before washing my face I applied some and realized it is an absolutely gorgeous highlighter. The ‘purple’ is actually a pearlescent lavender and honey hue so it does not pull purple at all. It leaves a VERY luminous – but very soft glow. Its almost like a blurring highlighter in a sense?!

Cinemattic COMPLEXION LIQUID | This is a primer that helps to instantly smooth your pores & makes your makeup look smoother & softer instantly. I am definitely a great tester because of my history with oily skin & acne – I need all of the smoothing / blurring a girl can get! I really liked this formula because it is light weight & soft yet works under makeup to give a filtered effect.

Party Puff STARLUCENT FILTERED POWDER | This packaging is absolutely darling first of all. The concept of this powder is very interesting in that it is a loose powder that filters out imperfections & enhances skin tones. I assumed it was a coral blush – which it can be if used with a heavy hand! However, it’s sheer and can be used all over for a radiant effect. I do actually enjoy it as a blush. The puff inside is ideal if you use it on the go and need to touch up.

Lip Duet TINT + BALM | Okay, I’m all about something new and innovative and this is it. On one end there’s a lip balm and the other end is a berry shaded lip tint — all in a magnetic duel ended case. This is ideal for a light makeup wearer honestly – it is functional but not too dramatic in color.

Brushed by Fame MAKEUP BRUSH KIT  | Okay, the brushes are beautiful as is the little case! I am really, really tough on brushes. I honestly rarely ever like new brushes or small brushes but these get an A+ from me. They do not feel cheap or like a decorative brush at all. They are functional and I use them with these products.

Luxe Lip Creme in REEL ROSE and REEL CORAL | Now I have not tried the coral shade yet but I did try the Rose shade and actually found it really unique. These lipsticks are not crazy pigmented by any means – but they are light weight and glowy. I am avoiding anything drying on my lips right now so I enjoy the rose one! I do think it does look better paired with a liner. And one thing I appreciate is that you can pop your favorite shade into the Lip Duet magnetic case and carry a balm + lip color with you!

  1. First off, that packaging is to die for. Secondly, these photos have me thinking spring!!! Gorgeous florals!!

  2. I have loved Estee Lauder since I was 20 years old. (I am now 64!) I have used foundation, eye makeup, treatment products and of course, your perfume. I must say though, when you discontinued your Beautiful Sheer, I was left completely devastated!! I have worn this fragrance since it was first introduced. I have been forced to purchase online at Amazon, at EXORBITANT costs!! Please please put this fragrance back on the shelves!!!! It is the best perfume you have ever made!!!

  3. I was hoping you would love these products! I get a couple of “me” hours tomorrow and I’m going to try these if they’re still in stock!
